ok, just writing this down because i want to see if it's still funny in the morning when i'm sober.

i was at amanda's house and on her fridge are all these magnets of the places they've been. it's really tacky, and intentionally so. very much her mother's type of thing. so there are all these really cheap touristy magnets of rome and venice and portugal and then there are ones of random places like wisconsin and calgary and parry sound. really funny. i picked one up randomly that was apart from the others at the bottom and amanda and i both looked at it and laughed at the same time. it read "niagra falls - 1999". hysterical. i took a camera-phone photo of it.

then we started thinking about people who, instead of buying all those knick knacks on their vacations, they just took pictures of the knick knacks. imagine a whole series of photos of snowglobes from all over the world. imagine those framed on a wall.

that's it, that's the story.

also, i had the perfect bus driver today. i was coming home from amanda's and i saw the bus in the distance and started running towards the stop. i just missed it and it started to pull away but the driver noticed me and stopped in the middle of the road to let me on. i love when they do that. it's SO nice, especially when it's 2:30 am and the next bus passes an hour later. also, he was really fast and imatient (driving around a snowblower in the opposite lane) but in a really smooth way, without bringing the bus to any abrupt stops. really great. also, he said bye as i got off the bus and as i was saying "merci". friendly, smiley, but not chatty. perfect!
